SACS Curriculum: Reading
Shakopee Area Catholic School Reading Standards and Benchmarks Reading Philosophy
The staff of Shakopee Area Catholic School believes reading is a necessary and vital skill for success in all other academic disciplines. We strive to instill in each student a proficiency of skills necessary to read and a life long appreciation of reading. Our shared purpose is to ensure that all students are knowledgeable and proficient users of language so they may succeed in school, further their spiritual growth, participate in our democracy as informed citizens, find challenging and rewarding work, appreciate and contribute to our culture, and pursue their own goals and interests as independent learners throughout their lives.
