The spirit of Christ animates the activity of Shakopee Area Catholic School. Each classroom begins and ends its day with a prayer, in addition to general prayer that is done over the PA as part of morning announcements. Throughout the year, the school body comes together to celebrate Mass. This takes place weekly in addition to other Holy Days. The seasons of Advent and Lent are also times of deepened prayer as individual class prayer services are scheduled in the chapel. Many middle school students who arrive at school early, take advantage of private morning prayer in the chapel during these seasons.
The school celebrates with festivity Catholic Schools Weeks as well as Vocations Week in January. For National Day of Prayer, the student body gather in the Marian Courtyard for a prayer service led by the Student Council. Faculty is encouraged to make prayer a natural occurrence in daily activities.
Faith is the key ingredient in daily life at SACS. Children are nurtured with a moral, Christian filter to mature into motivated, enthusiastic young adults.
