Beginning in 2010, we are excited to offer a formal dinner/auction opportunity for our families. “The Gala for Wishes” is designed to be an incredible night out for attendees. The funds raised at this event support a variety of needs at SACS and the Catholic Education Center. Through the purchase of tickets, the live and silent auction, and donations, we are able to enhance and develop our programs and continue to provide a quality Catholic education to those seeking it.

The annual SACS’ golf tournament is a fun and important part of the SACS’ year. Held every year the 2nd Sunday after Memorial Day at Creeks Bend Golf Course (www.creeksbendgolfcourse.com), this tournament raises funds to help support our tuition assistance programs. It is a wildly popular day and fills up with over 120 golfers well before the event. Many parents and friends of SACS see this as a fun end-of-the-year chance to enjoy themselves and support the school at the same time.

Twice per year, the Catholic Education Center hosts craft bazaars, which bring together hundreds and hundreds of crafters, cooks and specialty vendors to our school. These events are open to the public and all are welcome to visit, shop, sample and enjoy some fun and fellowship.
Crafters and Vendors who are interested should make sure to complete the requisite paperwork and contact Janell McBeain at jmcbeain@sacsschools.org or call the school office.

SACS’ Marathon is the only all-school fundraiser held annually in early October at the school. Beginning at the August “Back to School Night,” students and families begin working on the pledge drive to collect dollars for the school operation. A large committee of volunteers works on donations of time, talent, and treasure throughout this time as well. Through an incredible amount of work on pledges, donations and a successful silent auction, the marathon raises over $150,000 annually for the school. This money supports the general budget, and therefore helps purchase materials and books, funds salaries, and positively affects tuition. But the Marathon is MUCH MORE than a fundraiser… The Marathon is an event that kicks off the SACS’ year with fun energy and a huge sense of community success as we achieve this lofty goal. When everyone pulls together and we reach our goal, the Marathon Day itself becomes a huge celebration of this amazing accomplishment. And this momentum carries through into school spirit activities, pepfests, dances, etc. all year long. The Marathon is truly a part of the identity of SACS and our success in the Marathon work is a source of pride for all of us.

SCRIP is a national program to help non-profit groups and schools earn money. Essentially, SCRIP allows families to purchase prepaid merchandise gift cards/certificates for local and national businesses. These certificates are just like cash. In appreciation for your patronage, these businesses give the our Catholic Education Center Programs between 2% to 25% of the face value on the gift certificate. How does SCRIP work? The SACEC purchases gift cards/certificates at a discount from the participating businesses, earning an automatic profit when we sell it back to you at its face value. This difference, between what we buy the cards/certificates for and the face value we sell it to you for, is SCRIP profit before program expenses. The SCRIP profits generated by you are shared with YOU through an incentive program in the form of a credit which can be applied to SACS’ tuition for the current year, if applicable, or your Faith Formation (SARE) fee for the following year. Beginning July 1st, 2009, the profit from the SCRIP gift cards/certificates you purchase will be split 35% to your family/65% to the SACEC. You will not begin to earn tuition credits until the SCRIP office has a signed Enrollment form on file for you or the family you designate.
